Like we said earlier – Our favorite season is usually the one we are in at the time. It is the beginning of Fall and the Farm is bursting into bloom again! The Swamp Sunflowers are incredible - The most vivid yellow you will ever see mixed with the purple of the Mexican Brush Sage and it’s almost as good as a sunset.
Add a few ornamental pumpkins in a green farm wagon and you have the perfect photo oportunities.
We still have a few wedding dates available for for fall 2012…

Where has the winter gone? Spring is almost here and it makes us want to be in the yard We have been taking advantage of the great weather. We are working on a new garden area that we are calling The Knight Garden – can’t wait for you to see.

With all of the winter projects we have been working on we need to apologize for not keeping our blog up to date. We have two weddings from last year we need to tell you about. This is the first one.
Christina and Sam – October 30, 2010

Christina and Sam were marred at the farm on Oct 30 in the pecan orchard. We have said fall is our favorite time of year. The way all the elements of this wedding came together made it one of our favorites. Christine was a stunning bride and Sam was a handsome groom. Sam is proudly serving our country and was away a lot during the planning of the wedding but Christina made it happen.

It was obvious to us that Sam and Christina held the keys to each other’s hearts. We had been collecting some antique keys and thought this was the perfect time to use them - on his boutonniere, her bouquet and tucked here and there throughout the reception.

Our design team knocked this one out of the park, from the chandeliers, wheat, pumpkins, keys and quilts. Thanks to Sue and Samantha! You helped make Christina’s vision come to life. It was Halloween weekend and Christine made sure the kids were not left out. We loved her best wishes box and fall colored cards.

DJ Tiger Smith did a great job keeping everyone dancing. Jessica and Amy, two of Pineola’s coordinating and directing team made the day run so smooth, as always. Katerings by Kelly did a great job as always. Kelly’s food is great… and her presentation is superb. Kelly also baked the wedding cakes.

We love the way Jenny Evelyn Photography captured the love that Sam and Christina have for each other. Jenny always amazes us how how she captures the majic of the day.

We loved working with Sam and Christina and feel so grateful they chose us to be a part of their perfect day.

What Do Chickens Think? A Tribute To Mr. Cluck

It was a sad Tuesday when we woke to find our old buff rooster dead in his coup. We loved that rooster and we are sure he loved us, and anybody else with a camera… One of our nieces named him Mr. Cluck – Whenever kids would come near the pen, he would do his funny little dance for them – He was sure that would get some cracked pecans for his girls. He would always let them eat first…
He may have been one of the most photographed chickens in Georgia. We sometimes thought more pictures were taken of him than the bride and groom at some of our weddings. We always tried to feed him some cracked corn just before a wedding to prevent him from overpowering the “I Do’s” with his famous crowing.
He was a great protector of his flock – he once was badly injured while fighting off a wild dog who was attacking his hens. He was able to scare off many hawks over the years.
He had a good life at Pineola and he brought a lot of happiness to us and everyone who knew him.

Josh and Heather – October 23, 2010

The weather was perfect for Heather and Josh’s wedding. Heather chose Pineola’s design team to create her perfect fall southern wedding theme. Heather’s bridesmaids dresses were a rich persimmon – the color which we used as the basis for the color palate. Some of our favorite details were incorporated into the theme - Blue mason jars and cotton - we even incorporated cotton into the boutonnieres. Dusty miller, safflower, kangaroo paws and safari sunset were used in the arrangements and bouquets for great color and textures.
The couple had M & M’s custom printed with their names and wedding date which were given as favors. Their guest book was a matted engagement photo.
As always, Lisa Mae Cakes delivered a great wedding cake which was displayed on an old farm table. Thanks to Two Chics Photography for capturing all of the great moments of the day and sharing some of the early views with us.

The guests were treated to a reception in the cotton barn – when the couple made their exit the guest sent them off to the glow of wedding sparklers. Heather was beautiful and really did look like a princess.

Ross and Lindsey – October 16, 2010

Lindsey was a stunning bride and Ross was one the most appreciative grooms! Sue and I loved working on their design theme. We loved all of the details and elements. Lindsey wore a traditional veil for the ceremony then changed to a birdcage veil for the reception. In true southern style, Lindsey and Ross were married in the shade of the pecan orchard. Small red maple trees were displayed on the porch of the barn and were given to each guest as a favor.
Our wedding director’s, Jessica and Amy, made sure everything was perfect for Lindsey and Ross’s wedding day. Their beautiful cake was made by Lisa Mae Cakes – the topper was courtesy of their very talented photographer, Jenny Evelyn Prater. (Thanks for the early photos!)
The guest danced the night away to the sounds of the Celebration Band.
Lindsey was very close to her grandmother who had passed away. To keep her memory close on the wedding day our design team incorporated some of her jewelery into Lindsey’s bouquet. One of her butterfly pins was even used on Ross’s boutonniere.

Ross really wanted to leave the reception in a vintage car. Our staff was able to find the perfect ride for their style.
We hope Lindsey and Ross had a great time in Paris on their honeymoon. We really enjoyed working with them on their wedding day! This was a dream wedding for our staff.

Jacob and Amber – October 9, 2010

Cake is good at a wedding – Sometimes ice cream is even better! The timing was perfect today. As we were coming to the front of the house for some pictures we heard the familiar music of the ice cream truck coming up the road. Delise ran out and flagged it down for the perfect wedding day treat!

A fall wedding is not complete without pumpkins. Amber and Jacob made a great addition to our “patch”.

Daniel and Lori – September 25th 2010

We loved Lori’s vision of hot pink with a rustic look. The guests were each given a small bottle of bubbles to shower the bride and groom as they came back down the aisle. Lori was a beautiful bride – it was a perfect September day!

Daniel wanted everything to be just as Lori envisioned it. He worked with his future father in law to help create the perfect centerpieces. After he cut pieces of oak into 4 inch slabs with a chainsaw they took them to a woodworking shop for the final crafting.

Daniel is an avid hunter – his cake was even camo! The grooms cake table was decorated with a picture of him with one of his trophies. The favors were camo drink koozies. Lori requested that they leave on the John Deere Tractor.

Lori was one of our most organized brides! She made it easy on our directing staff. It was great working with her and Daniel.

Pineola Farms Fall Farm Day – October 2, 2010

Most weekends the farm is bustling with families preparing for a family members wedding and reception. This weekend will be a little different.
Saturday is our annual Fall Farm Day. The farm will once again be a busy place with tractors, farm equipment, mules, bands, food and artisans. Kids will love the pumpkin patch where they can pick out their own little pumpkin and take it to the paint station decorate. They will also be able to find an ear of corn, shuck it, grind it and feed it to the chickens.
Fresh Air BBQ will be serving lunch to enjoy in the Cotton barn or on the grounds.

Doug and Robin – September 18th, 2010

Robin was one of those special brides – We fell in love with Robin and her mother, Carol, from the start. Robin even helped us out by being a bartender at a previous wedding.
The weather was hot and steamy for a day in September. There was no breeze blowing at all. Just as the guest were being seated a rain shower formed a few miles south of here – the sky clouded up and the wind started blowing – perfect weather for an outdoor wedding and not a drop of rain here. A candle burned in loving memory of Seth Hudson – we think he was partially responsible for the beautiful sky for Robin and Doug’s wedding.

Our floral team had the pleasure of designing all of the flowers for their wedding. Robin’s bridesmaids dresses were purple – she wanted all of her flowers in white with only a small hint of purple in her bouquet. It was simply elegant.

They chose to be married in the circle of love with their family and friends surrounding them.
Their son, Hudson, joined them as they walked back down the aisle as husband and wife.

We are so thankful that Robin and Doug allowed us to be a part of their wedding day. Robin was one of the happiest brides we have ever seen and Doug was one of the most grateful grooms. Hope you have and great honeymoon and we look forward to seeing you soon.
